In 2000, Tim hosted the first USMDGC which was held at Whittier Narrows Disc Golf Course in Southern California.  This event was won by David Greenwell.  In 2004, the event was moved to La Mirada Regional Park in California.  US Masters players were treated to rounds on the fabled "Golden State Layout".  Hosting the event on this famous championship caliber course added yet another level of prestige to this PDGA Major Event.

While Tim created the US Masters as a disc golf competition to honor age protected players, Tim wanted this event to be about celebrating sportsmanship and having fun!  Tim continued to host the annual event until his death in August 2009.  The 2009 US Masters was hosted in the weeks following Tim's passing.  Event through his illness, Tim was still working to host this annual event.  To honor his memory, the event was renamed The Tim Selinske US Masters Disc Golf Championship.  Having a PDGA Major named after Tim Selinske is a true testament to his efforts in creating this event as well as honoring his lifetime of contributions to the sport of disc golf.

In 2010 the Tim Selinske USDGC traveled to the International Disc Golf Center in Appling, GA.  This marked the start of several new traditions for the annual PDGA Major Event.  This was the first time the event was held outside of the state of California.  This same year a perpetual trophy was created which includes the names of all the US Masters Champions since the year 2000.  The event now travels across the United States each year to be hosted by different cities and clubs.  The PDGA selects host cities through the PDGA Major Bidding Process.

Please remember that Tim would have personally wanted each and every player and volunteer to have fun and celebrate disc golf!
